Palette Studio is where creativity meets color theory. Design harmonious color schemes using our interactive color wheel with 7 classic harmony types (complementary, analogous, triadic, and more). Adjust individual colors with precision controls for hue, saturation, and brightness. Generate variations, test accessibility, and perfect your palette before exporting to your favorite creative software.

The Swatchery Community is home to thousands of shared color palettes from creators around the world. Browse curated collections, discover trending palettes, follow top creators, and share your own work. Save palettes to your personal library and build your portfolio of up to 250 color schemes. Connect with fellow artists, get inspired by their color choices, and contribute to a growing creative community.

Color Extraction lets you pull palettes directly from any image. Upload photos, artwork, or design references and our algorithm identifies the dominant colors automatically. Perfect for brand matching, mood boarding, or capturing color inspiration from the world around you. All processing happens locally in your browser for complete privacy—your images never leave your device.

Privacy is core to everything we do. Your images are processed locally in your browser—they never touch our servers. We don't track what you create or extract. When you share palettes with the community, you choose exactly what to make public. Your creative work stays yours, and we're committed to keeping it that way.

How It Works

Create in Palette Studio: Start with the interactive color wheel or pick a base color. Choose from 7 classic harmony types (complementary, split-complementary, triadic, square, analogous, monochromatic, or rectangle) and watch the wheel automatically generate harmonious combinations. Fine-tune each color with precision sliders for hue, saturation, and brightness. Lock colors you love while exploring variations of others. Test your palette's accessibility with built-in WCAG contrast checkers.

Share with the Community: When you create an account, save up to 250 palettes to your personal library and access them from any device. Share your best work publicly with the Swatchery community—name your palette, add tags, and let other creators discover your color choices. Browse the community feed to see what others are creating, save palettes you love, and follow your favorite creators.

Extract from Images: Upload any image (photos, artwork, design references) and our algorithm identifies dominant colors automatically. Extract 1-30 colors per palette with adjustable quality settings. The entire process happens in your browser using WebAssembly technology—your images are never uploaded to servers. EXIF metadata is automatically stripped for privacy.

Export Everywhere: Export your palettes to 15+ professional software formats including Adobe Photoshop (.aco, .ase, .act), Procreate (.swatches), GIMP (.gpl), Clip Studio Paint (.cls), Krita (.kpl), Affinity (.afpalette), Sketch (.sketchpalette), web formats (CSS, JSON, SVG), and image files (PNG, JPG, PDF). Our export engine ensures color accuracy across different color spaces and software versions.
